God its already February! I've been lethargic in all senses as of late barely able to start anything, feeling guilty about everything and nothing at the same time, feeling like i ought to be doing something but having no drive to go about doing so.
Exhausting in itself.

So I'll push myself to do this double whammy post.
Last year i did these two prompts separately but lets just bundle the two together this time!

2025 Lolita Year in Review

𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓, 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒍𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒚 𝒆𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒕𝒐 𝒈𝒆𝒕/𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒎𝒚𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇:

Not as impressive as last year's list- in getting 2 dream dresses within the same week; but this year i got a lot of items i've coveted and have been needing as well~ I was able to successfully get a red blouse from BABY, a back pintuck rose lace blouse too, a big WL blouse which was the scallop sailor collar blouse by baby, princess sleeve blouse too, and my first pair of brand bloomers, a half bonnet which i've worn so so much, as well as a mysterious old offwhite floral baby headdress, my first and only cutsew FINALLY! as well as the fact i thrifted both a red velveteen jacket and a red tartan one on the same day! I also got a great navy tartan jsk, and successfully got fruit tart embroidery jsk II which was basically a grail item, and i was even able to trade my size S Ekaterina jsk for an ivory scallop hem jsk- after i was successful in finding it in size M! i sold a number of both main pieces and other things! I also finally got a pair of black boots! something ive been needing for years after my old hot topic ones disintegrated in the middle of the street, and i got a couple of new bags too- particularly a BABY vanity bag, a baby straw bag as well, and i even thrifted some great bags too [a mini tartan suitcase bag, and a big navy "work" bag too]. As well as a number of cardigans and boleros too which i was in desperate need!
And i was particularly lucky that i have friends that love me that gifted me a marvelous skirt that i'm utterly in love with!! As well as being gifted a velveteen la luice backpack by my mother!!

I'm lucky all around because i had money to spare for the majority of the year, but i did sell a lot of things too when the going got tough. Regardless my wardrobe has padded out well even further this past year!

𝑵𝒆𝒙𝒕 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓, 𝑰 𝒉𝒐𝒑𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒇:
Honestly i have 0 idea- maybe a couple more white/ivory pieces in general?
Hm, for sure Frill Frill blouse in IVORY- PLEASE
i'd also like to try AGAIN for millefeuille- i did enjoy having it in sax but when i saw it utilized a particular heart lace alongside rose lace, and then saw that the new version used my fav BABY lace and daisy lace i decided [and i needed the money] to sell it so i could have room to try for a newer release version. I'm hoping itll release for summer so i can buy one in person at BABY, and id die if they had it in offwhite/ivory or brown! sax would be ok too but idk ivory or brown calls to me...
This year i guess i've decided i also want to try to get Hawase doll. I previously gave up on the dream because its so coveted and i also had no idea how it would fit on me- in a fit of ultimate irony 2 of my irl lolita friends got the dress at basically the same time this year and i was a bit envious- they let me try it on and it fit like a glove i was just a bit too emotional about it. I'd love to have it in either ivory/off white or perhaps sax...
But what do i NEED more of?? Bloomers. absolutely. i feel like im always rummaging around for a clean pair its utterly embarrassing. i want to try to make my own and itll be fun hopefully~

𝑴𝒚 𝒇𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒂 𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝒘𝒂𝒔:
God there's so many i can't choose! i'm looking back on all the pictures taken this year and honestly i dont think i've ever taken so many pictures of me and my friends in one year. All of these memories are so dear to me, from my trip to london, to my birthday party with my comm, to every meet we had together- its all so much more than i could ever ask for!

Bonus!- 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝑰'𝒎 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒕𝒐:
So many things!! But in particular wearing lolita to japan!! And even more importantly making my pilgrimages whilst there - visiting every BABY store in every city i visit!!! I'm also super looking forward to making a bunch of handmade lolita for me and my friends! i've already gifted so many of them headdresses for christmas and i simply want to make more! i want to make more accessories, bloomers, and even jsks! i want my mark to clearly be seen on what i wear!

Obtain a white parasol
3rd year running i just dont get around to it ugh

Get 2 to 3 GLBs
I wasn't able to purchase a single one this year...

Buy 1 white or black bag
I got a black one- my Vivienne Westwood buckle clutch came at a great time~ its real leather and fits everything i need~
if it were a cheaper bag i'd use it more, but as its a really nice bag i only use it when warranted~
It's also a great memento i got from my trip to London, and the fact that i got it at World's END~

Make a headdress
Just missed it by a couple of weeks because i ended up making like 4 or 5 in the first couple of weeks of janurary!!

Buy a Cutsew
FINALLY!! ONE!! I HAVE FINALLY GOTTEN ONE CUTSEW!!
i got it in august from xianyu and only recently received it. hopefully its just want i want and need...

omitted due to the fact that as much as i have a WL with set pieces i want, its still very much so an idea more than anything else so im really flexible with both what i want and believe i need. Trying to stick to a super set list is actually really impossible for me- especially with what the way the lolita 2nd hand market is these days, being overly picky kind of will not let you go anywhere imo, at this point i think we're all more beggars than choosers so i get what i can that'll make me happy and thats it.

Get a white caplet
Huzzah! i was able to win a mercari auction of one during the summer [using a personal shopper ofc]
I've yet to use it though [hearbreaking]

Get 1 to 2 MAM Blouses
WELL MAYBE IF MAM RESTOCKED ANY OF THIER STOCK THIS COULDVE BEEN ACHIEVED.
i got a cool double collar BABY rose lace blouse as well as baby's princess sleeve blouse off CC tho as well as the double collar back pintuck blouse IN RED so nothing lost, everything gained anyways~

Make 3 to 5 outfits for kumyas

Draw & Print 2 illustrations
Once again no time. i started alot of illustrations but didnt have time to complete anything

Get 5 Jane Marple Jewelry pieces
oops, well i did get a coin necklace so yay~
they keep getting more and more expensive ugh...

Get 2 Brand Bloomers
come i think it was like mid or late Janurary last year there was a huge drop on CC of BABY products? maybe misplaced overstock? anyways i got my first pair of baby bloomers in that drop so yay~
im hoping to maybe get some ivory raschel lace bloomers this year now...

So what's on the docket for 2026?

First and foremost a trip to Japan come June! So i have 6 [now 5] months to prepare for this

SO I'VE GOT TO SAVE!!

A serious "No-buy" has been implemented - exceptions to grail items, as well as essentials [ex. i need a freaking white bag!!]
i've already broken this a bit since i bought a BABY Mini tie because it was an amazingly low price [ie not scalped for once] and i couldnt pass it up...but regardless if i've spent less than $50 it slides by tbh

Save 350eur to spend at BABY Shops [and CC] in Japan
+ Buy a white parasol
Not much, but enough to buy a main piece and then some, a relatively realistic and easy goal of saving to acheieve~
i even have a list written out on my phone of what i would buy if it were in stock in any of the stores- its also me manifesting certain things to be there

Get black gingham blouse copy commissioned
So i will never give up- but it has proven itself impossible from the start for me to obtain the matching blouse to my meta black princess set skirt when another buyer bought only the blouse off CC... So i've decided to commission a shirt-maker to make a relative copy of it now that i have [more or less] matching fabric to the skirt

all i need now is some heavily similar raschel lace, if you see any PLEASE TELL ME!!

Oooh im already on my way with this one - i spent... too much on some fabric and lace to make my ultimate need and wanted handmade piece-

simple right? well i sure hope it comes out nice- I've chosen to make it in creme instead, and will be utilizing the Bear Lace that's the exact same that baby used in the 2000's that i was able to acquire from a japanese seller last year~

I love to draw lolita, and i love to hold lolita art. So i wish to contribute to the art of such.

Sew 3 Kumya Clothes
I'm already on my way to completing one because i want a matching babydoll OP to mine that my kumyas can wear to match with me...

Last year i got more into my ivory/white game and honestly this year i want to continue it- perhaps even ramp it up further.
I love red with all my heart but i adore the elegance ivory/creme/ecru brings and i want to have even more fun with it

. Ha i even said last summer was vanilla creme girl summer and apparently i inspired some other lolitas to coord creme/off white coords and it was such a great feeling and thing to see
