July 2024 Coordinates

last summer I was pretty bummed that I didn’t have the diversity in my wardrobe for summer coords- summers where I live stably get to 35+C from mid June and stay that way until September; and yes I know that’s not even 100F let me say though the heat here hits different and majority of places either don’t have AC or it’s basically set to a minimum setting. Also no one likes sweating in their brand amiright? regardless one of my top priorities in Lolita this year was to collect camisoles and boy did I, along with that I gathered a decent number of skirts as well as JSKs I specifically wanted to wear blouse-less. Regardless, I still don’t wear it as much simply because it’s too damn hot to go or do anything besides the beach, so here’s the few coords I was able to happily throw on this past month!

26 June - Wednesday

Im adding this one because I can; my month has already been split into pre-queen is dead event and post, and this was my first post-event coord. Anyways, a mall coord, blouseless because its too hot even inside the mall, and anyways I knew I wanted to try on jeans so I didn’t want to have to mess around with taking off and putting on a bunch of clothes.
Also I think utks and blouseless is super cute.

2 - Tuesday

I love wearing Lolita to live shows; this particular coord was to see Slowdive. I missed out on seeing them in Milan because I didn’t feel like spending €150+ on a €35 concert, so I was pretty happy when I saw they’d play in my city barely a couple of months later. I wanted a sort of whimsy look to match with their general vibe as well, I always knew my old bxw Cul de Paris would do the job, and it was the perfect choice for the muggy night the night of the show. I tried cording it with my striped socks but I didn’t vibe with it at the time, maybe some other time ill commit with them. Also it’s a good thing I wore the platforms I did [I did definitely choose them because they can withstand stepped on toes] because thankfully they made me shoot up atop about 80% of the audience so I was able to easily see the show which was only standing room. Also I did some cool braided hair style it’s a shame its not visible in any picture…

The live was definitely an emotional experience; i never cried so much at a live show lol, but im glad I saw a lot of the audience crying along with me!

10 - Wednesday

A walking around in the center to buy lace outfit. I met up with my friend for lunch and we were supposed to then go fabric store hoping because we both wanted lace to alter out h&m cami’s with. Unfortunately though she’d gotten a stomach bug earlier in the week and still wasn’t 100% and of course the heat wasn’t helping. We got to one store and then she had to call it quits, and I wasn’t going to walk around in the middle of a hot day alone tbh. I’m still glad we got together for lunch though and I’m happy I got to debut this coord- it seems im quite partial to skirt coords in the summer, probably because I have a decent amount of cute camisoles now hehe.

18 - Thursday

A coord to get cheesecake with part of the comm. I literally just had really been craving cheesecake and there’s this cute-trendy place near me which has it as their specialty and a bit of their selling point [I like to think the restaurant owner went to the US and saw the cheesecake factory and copied it a bit lol], so I just sent a message in the comm group asking if anyone wanted to join and a couple did. It was fun, I never go to this place and it was nice to meet up with everyone at some point in the summer when its way too hot to do any Lolita activities during the day comfortably.

Anyways I couldn’t get completely content with this coord-I think the modern cut of CDP is just way too did up [???] I suppose? Idk its just hard to dress down whatsoever. Regardless I guess it was cute with no blouse and no socks haha [and even then I sweated way too much]

23 – Tuesday

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take a pic of this coord because of the non-stop rush I was in from beginning to end while wearing it [ie I went to take an exam and then had to rush back home to work from home [with camera]]. So here it is just as a faux-flatlay [thats not what you call it but i cant for the life of me remember what these are called], use your imagination, it was paired with the same black ankle frill socks from the 10th coord. Hopefully I can wear it again before it cools down.

27 – Saturday

A coord to meet up with Fey, another Lolita who I met in Vienna earlier this year during a work trip (and I messaged the Austrian comm asking if anyone wanted to meet in Vienna and I was very warmly hosted for a lovely dinner session by the Vienna community), and me and Fey just got along really well and even met up a following day while I was still in town. Anyways her stopover was here before going to see her family, and she messaged me asking if I wanted to meet up. Unfortunately due to my working Saturdays in the summer I wasn’t able to meet with her and her friends at the local botanical garden, but whatever I love a good drink and yap sesh, which is what we planned for later in the evening, and how we ended up spending the evening :>

I did use this street snap I adore a bit as inspo- when I started putting on pieces I was like wait…. Hold up this is familiar and I brought up the picture and was a but giddy at the thought of emulating it. Unfortunately I don’t have any print bandeau tops but of well I think the vibe ended up still there more or less.

Also theres two coords, because one is in the ideal world where I don’t have sweaty knees and can cover my legs in the summer without dying, and the other is my summer reality. Which I guess is still cute. Also I really liked my hair <3
