Week 5:
28. Bloomers or no Bloomers?
![]()
You know the syrup they line the cup with in fancy drinks? That’s bloomers. Bloomers and waist ties are the unsung heroes of Lolita imo- sure waist ties had their day during the 2010s sweet but I think they ended up falling out from the collective from there when they’re the literally cherry on top to Lolita in general.
Anyways and bloomers? The true unsung hero. They’re a bit more seen in old school what with shorter hemlines and the use of knee length bloomers- I love this little look. I love peeking bloomers regardless and I love the safety they allow as well; I can’t imagine sitting on my dresses without something proper. So I’ve got a love for bloomers, and I’ll always be cheering for everyone to see their good but at the same time…. I have 0 brand bloomers.
Heartbreaking, yes. I’d kill for some torchon lace bloomers, I would. Every time, I see I good deal on some second hand ones I’m like oh it’s now and then I don’t get them and here I am. And there’s also the issue that I keep reusing the SAME PAIR of bloomers constantly- FOR GOOD REASON: they’re a pair of petti-bloomers so they give me that minimal amount of poof I want!!! I love them so much I got a second pair in black. Besides them I have my first pair I got from melikestea way back when and they’re just your basic cotton bloomers that come mid thigh. But recently I saw some Lolitas with bloomers which were completely without elastic and loose at the leg opening and tbh I loved the look so much?? I’m wanting to get a second hand pair and take out the elastic to do exactly that, it must feel nice and breezy and cool in the summer especially!
Anyways. Bloomers: Yes. Not up for debate.
